ABOUT INSTILL --
OUR MISSION

Pursuing depth in human experience;

fostering greater capacity for relational imagination, integrative living, compassion, courage, creativity and joy

— to live more meaningful and artful lives together.

Instill is an independent meditation school. We teach public, private and corporate meditation with an emphasis on learning how-to, continuing education, mentorship support, and practical lifestyle tools for self-healing, self-regulation, relational reparation and living wisely. Rooted in six guiding principles to help you practice what you aspire to become, at Instill we explore the dynamics of artful and integrative living at the intersection of: health and healing, spiritual inquiry, science, nature, beauty, creativity, imagination, and consciousness.

At Instill, we believe that a daily practice of meditation is at the foundation of personal, relational, social, and cultural transformation. It is our intention to teach, lead, educate, inspire and support personal empowerment, transformation and healing through: group conversations and knowledge meetings, meditation mentorship support, effective healing tools, self-reflective and contemplative practices, and resources.

OUR 6 GUIDING PRINCIPLES

  1. Presence —

  2. Curiosity —

  3. Imagination —

  4. Process Oriented —

  5. Conscious Choice —

  6. Follow Charm —

"Meditation is a cyclical process of working with the stored friction of life to continuously reveal, with more depth, the innate beauty that is you."

-- Caryn Kilback Nelson, Instill Founder

Instill Meditation was founded by Caryn Kilback Nelson inside her private residential home in Calgary, Alberta Canada in the fall of 2017.

It was born out of her love and respect for the practice and how it has, and continues to be, at the forefront for positive transformation in both her personal life, as well as in her shared life together with her husband and son.

Instill, as it continues to evolve, takes up the task of establishing a sense of response-ability for our inner life, outer life, and our shared life together. Living at the intersection of being and becoming, we explore our own depth relative to the myriad complexity of human relations, while learning how to integrate a more wholistic way of living in dynamic balance with the life we want to create. We ask questions like: What does it mean to be human, what does healing look like, what does my life stand for, how do I want to live, how can I relate more wisely, and how can I integrate these questions to help serve the greater web of relations with each other?

In the spring of 2022 we welcomed the inaugural launch of Instill’s online platform, featuring online supportive resources for Instill’s in-person courses as well as fully online and asynchronous courses that can be completed at your own pace. As it continues to expand, this online platform will house on-going resources and practices for self-exploration, self-healing, relational prompts, fostering healthy imagination, as well as cultivating aspirational virtuous qualities, all with the intention to help you honour the space between who you are and who you want to become.
